Unbox. Prep. Bake Like a Pro. Everything you need to get started is included

Unboxing your KitchenStar pizza stone is the first step to homemade pizza perfection. Inside the box, you’ll find a cordierite stone, stainless steel rack, and plastic scraper. A natural clay scent is normal and will fade. Before first use, rinse with clean water—no soap—and dry thoroughly. Then heat the stone in a cold oven at 500°F (260°C) for 30–60 minutes. This burns off any residue and primes it for baking. After that, you’re ready to cook your first pizza. No extra prep needed!

Get the best from your KitchenStar pizza stone with a few pro techniques. Always start with a cold oven to prevent cracks. Preheat to 500°F (260°C) for 30–45 minutes so the stone reaches optimal heat. Slide your pizza onto the stone and bake until golden and crispy about 5–10 minutes. Between pizzas, reheat the stone for consistent results. For sticky doughs, use parchment paper. Never add oil or butter directly to the stone to avoid smoke and residue buildup.

Care Tips for Long-Lasting Performance Clean safely, store smartly, bake confidently

Let your pizza stone cool fully before cleaning. Сlean with warm water and a brush—no soap. For stubborn food, try baking soda paste and gentle scrubbing. Burn off tough stains in the oven at high heat or use the self-cleaning mode. Always dry thoroughly before storing. Avoid damp places—store in your oven for easy access and better heat retention. Having issues? If pizza sticks, preheat longer or use parchment paper for smooth transfer.

My stone has a strong chemical smell – what should I do?

It may be due to soap usage. To remove the smell, rinse the stone with warm water and then bake it at the highest temperature your oven allows for at least 1 hour. This will burn off any absorbed residues and eliminate unwanted odors.

My baking stone has dark spots on it. Is this normal?

Yes, spots are normal because the surface is porous, and the stone absorbs oils over time. These spots do not affect performance. If desired, you can remove them by baking the stone at a high temperature to burn off any residue.

Is it possible to cut pizza directly on the stone?

We do not recommend cutting pizza directly on the stone, as this can damage both the stone and the knives. It is better to transfer the pizza to a cutting board after baking.

Why isn’t my pizza crust getting crispy?

Make sure the pizza stone is preheated for at least 30-60 minutes and the oven temperature is set high (500°F or 260°C). Also, avoid using too much sauce or wet toppings, which can make the crust soggy.

Why is my pizza stone cracked?

Cracks are usually caused by thermal shock, which occurs when the stone is exposed to sudden temperature changes. Always place the stone in a cold oven and allow it to heat up gradually. Also, do not place a hot stone in cold water.
